Annual Meeting and Banquet
Each year, usually in August (at the end of one season and before beginning the new one), KLT pauses to socialize and conduct necessary business at its Annual Meeting and Banquet -- also popular as the place where our annual acting and technical awards, voted on by our membership, are presented.
In 2011, the banquet started at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, at the Kernersville Moravian Fellowship Hall between South Main Street and Cherry Street, followed by the annual business meeting at 6:30 and the awards ceremony at 7:00. The awards are the highlight of the season for those actors and technical personnel who have labored so hard to bring quality theatre to the area.
KLT holds a business meeting as part of the event, to, among other things, report on progress and officially elect new and returning directors and officers.
The 2011 elections elected Joy Smallwood for a term of one year; and Trish Forbes, Ann Krieg, Laurie McDaniel, Raymond Ruttle III, Sharon Smith and Leslye Thornton for three year terms through August 2014.
Current board members continuing for the '11-'12 season are Jan Burwick, Kathy Cissna, David Fitzpatrick, Beverly Fry, Jim Lehman, Cathy Marion, Don Scarborough, Joyce Spontak, Adam Sullivan, Don Thornton and Mike Whicker.
The officers for the new season include Kathy Cissna as President, Beverly Fry as VP Administration, Cathy Marion as VP Development, Leslye Thornton as VP Marketing, Raymond Ruttle, III as VP Production, Jan Burwick as VP Volunteer Relations, Sharon Smith as Secretary, Laurie McDaniel as Treasurer and Joyce Spontak as Assistant Treasurer.
